One might think that this is obvious why you should live an honest life. But it is clear to me that the life of integrity is the exception rather than the rule. How many people do you know who are honest all the time?
We could make a case on morality and fairness "to live honestly. Religious leaders have always said for thousands of years. And "no doubt that they could also provide a model of integrity.
I believe in moral values and ethicalintegrity, but I also believe that there are very practical and useful for living a perfect life. Ten years ago:
1. Trust. To succeed in business or hold a position of responsibility, a person must have a reputation for honesty. Resources are not allocated to people who have proven unreliable.
2. Health. I have no research to support, but I would bet that people who tell the truth are more healthy. They have fewer worries, less stressand feel better about themselves. This should lead to better health.
3. Pride. I have not met a liar who has a real pride in themselves. Any leadership training worth stressing the importance and value of having pride in what you do and who you are. If your reputation is based on deception, your opinion of yourself is really bad. Be honest just plain feels good.
4. Peace of Mind. If you cheat on your taxes, you can get away with it, but probablyalways afraid that you verify and face fines, extra charges and even jail as a result. Your reputation will be tarnished. When he is honest, you have the peace of mind. It is impossible to worry and be happy at once.
5. Remember. It has been said that nobody has a good enough memory to be a liar. When not telling the truth, we must invent it. When you do, you'll often be asked to remember your performance for the truth, and may not be able tobecause you forget what you said. You shall know the truth, but you do not remember the version of it. Very annoying. In addition, it is difficult to work constantly with false stories.
6. Good Sleep. If you are unless you have the consciousness of all and you often lose sleep because of your fear of being discovered. Your concern and guilt will keep you awake. A good sleep is one of the many pleasures of life and good people sleep better.
7. Trust. Many people have excellent"Got Bull." They know, at least at some level, when you're wrong. If lying is your modus operandi, we know that these people are often so your face. There is no way to have a real confidence in yourself when you walk on the "bubble".
8. Good relations. The reports are the jewels in our lives. Some might argue that relationships are our life. E breeches in trust are the death knell of relationships. When trust is gone, there is no basis on whichbuild. Private relationships of trust seems empty and shallow. Lack of joy.
9. The legal problems. Do not look far to see people enter the dishonesty of legal problems. Lying in a court or judicial officer is literally against the law. Conversely, if you have no secrets, you can rest and its difficult for anyone to make you sing.
10. Not work. Too often, our deceptions and lies are discovered. In the information age, wherewe live, is more likely to be found sooner or later be seen for what they are. The dishonesty is simply ineffective.
The good thing is rarely easy to do. But it's worth.
