Stop the Unconstitutional Washington, DC Voting Representation from passing--the DC Power Grab. The Truth: The District of Columbia was created as a neutral territory to be the nation's capital, to prevent our capital from being owned by any state. Because only states are allowed Congressional representatives and Senators in the Constitution, it is absolutely unconstitutional to award the Capital a full voting seat in Congress. In 2007, the bill to award exactly such an unconstitutional seat passed in House but was defeated in the Senate. The liberal Congress tried and failed (for the present) to force through the power grab for Barack Obama to sign. DC power grab supporters were appauled that Americans got an amendment added to partially protect the 2nd amentment rights of DC residents, offering the left a terrible choice! The left knows they will have one more left-wing vote in Congress to force through more Socialist legislation if they can pass this. To buy GOP votes, Utah would be temporarily given an additional House seat (which may not necessarily be won by the GOP) but which will likely end up after reapportionment in 2010 as an extra seat for primarily illegal immigrants in California after the next Census. Republicans: you are being suckered, do not violate the Constitution because of the temporary Utah seat.
